You have tried climbing steep rocky walls at home but have you ever tried hanging precariously from rocky inclines or grappling your way up smooth rock faces? India presents you the opportunity.
Good rock faces, eminently suitable for climbing are available on the Aravalli Hills in Dumdama, Dhauj, and Nuh, which are all near Delhi. In Himachal Pradesh, the Manali Valley, Manikaran and the Rohtang Pass can test the skills of hardened rock climbers. Karnataka has the Chamundi Hills where climbers can have a field day. In Rajasthan, there is Mount Abu and Sariska, both offer a wide variety of rock faces. In the higher mountain ranges -- in Jammu and Kashmir's Sonmarg and in Gangotri in Garhwal -- the climbing becomes more exciting.
